William married Emily Kelton September 17, 1833 and they had ten children: Rachel (Woodfin), James Anthony, Gilliam Newton, Sarah Emily, William George, John Thomas, Margaret Jane, Mary (Woodfin), Melissa (Arnold), Susan (Arnold).
Sarah, John & Margaret never married. George was killed at the Battle of Stones River during the War Between the States.
William's obituary written by M. H. Webb
CLARK-Died, Oct. 23, 1880, at Liberty Gap, Rutherford county, Tenn; Wm. Clark, Sir., aged 76 years and 4 days.
Father Clark was received into the Cunberland Presbyterian Church at Old Liberty Oct. 20, 1850, and lived and died strictly a consistent member of the same. He leaves an aged companion and seven children to mourn his absence. I believe they are all members of the Church of his choice. Also quite a number of grand children. He enjoyed religion, and during his last protracted illness, would frequently shout and praise his blessed Savior for the many great things he had done for him. May his family and the Church at Libery follow, in their lives, his Christian firmness which was the leading trait of his character.
