Waldo "Buster" Long was born Aug. 7, 1911 in Benton County, a son of Bert A. and Alice Dennison Long.

He married Lucille Joyce at Rock Island, IL. on Oct. 22,1931.

He owned a restaurant and operated the rendering service in the Vinton area before retiring.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gene and Larry Dean of Vinton; three daughters, Coleen Starr of Mason City, Joyce Fennern of Vinton and Mrs. Stan (Gloria) Kammerer of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, Corles of Cedar Rapids and Clato of Prairie du Chien, WI.
