SERVICES TODAY FOR MRS. EVA BRALLIER
Curlew - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren for Mrs. Eva Brallier, 74, longtime resident of the Curlew-Mallard vicinities who died of a heart attack Friday evening at a hospital in Modesto, Calif.
The Rev. Leland Grove, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Rush Lake cemetery south of Curlew. Pallbearers are Roy Rouse, Merle Rouse, Max Grossnickle, Edgar Grossnickle, Otis Pieratt and Edwin Wilcox. Music will be provided by Mrs. Kenneth Bailey and Mrs. Leland Grove, accompanied by Mrs. Otis Pieratt.
Mrs. Brallier was born Nov. 8, 1886 at Mallard, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Whitmer. She was married in 1906 to George Brallier and they continued to live in the Mallard-Curlew area. Mr. Brallier died in June 1948. Mrs. Brallier had spent the last several winters in California with her daughter, Mrs. Howard Duncanson.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Catherine) Duncanson of Modesto, Calif.; three sons, Evan and Amos Brallier of Curlew and Virgil Brallier of North Adams, Mass.; two brothers, John Whitmer of Galena, Mo., and Victor Whitmer of Modesto, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister Maude.
