RANDALL H. STAGGS

Randall Hollis Staggs, 78, of Brazil, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Indiana.
Born May 17, 1931, in Ferndale, he was the son of Clarence P. and Elizabeth F. Coombs Staggs. His wife, Ocie Phipps Staggs, whom he married October 11, 1981, survives.
He was a 1949 graduate of Union High School in Bellmore and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a press operator for IBM along with being a farmer and truck driver.
He was a member of Pittsboro Lodge #620 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Pittsboro Chapter #416 Order of the Eastern Star, and was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for over 50 years in Rockville and Columbus, Ohio.
Other survivors include one son, Timothy Michael (Pat) Staggs of Orient, Ohio; two daughters, Randi Sue Briebach of Columbus, Ohio and Carol Jayne (Joseph) Lattorre of Sylvania, Ohio; one step-son, Thomas Alexander of Florida; three step-daughters, Malinda Leah (Donald) Waters and Leslie Jane (Gary) Baldwin all of Pittsboro and Donna Michele Little of Asheboro, North Carolina; two brothers, Rlaymond Staggs of Kingman and Clarence Staggs Jr of Rockville; one sister, Mary Vibbert of Danville, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy Staggs and John Knauer; and one sister, Mable Fortner.
Services were Friday, September 25 at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home in Rockville with Rev. Alan Cloar officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Military graveside rites were performed by Parke County Veterans.
