Roy Herbert Staggs, 61, Greencastle, died Tuesday, January 25, 1994, at his residence.
Born October 19, 1932 in Parke County, he was the son of Clarence Pearl and Elizabeth Coombes Staggs. On January 26, 1957, he married Helen Lukenbill, who survives. He was a serviceman for Indiana Gas Company in Greencastle for 24 1/2 years, retiring in 1990. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1550 and Moose Lodge 1592, both in Greencastle.
Other survivors include three daughters, Janet Anderson and Dawn Staggs of Greencastle, and Linda Boller of Salvisa, Kentucky; a son, Rodney Staggs of Greencastle; his mother, Elizabeth Staggs of Rockville; a sister, Mary Vibbert of Rockville; three brothers, Raymond Staggs of Kingman, Randall Staggs of Greencastle, and Clarence Staggs of Rockville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Fortner, and a brother, John Kanuer.
Services were conducted Friday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle with Rev. Rusty Anderson officiating. Burial was in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
