Last Rites Held for Mrs. Frank Strobl

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Strobl were conducted from the Congregational-Christian church, on Saturday afternoon, with Rev. William Wilson officiating. Interment was made in the Red Cloud cemetery. The pall bearers were four sons: Vencil, Rudolf, Fred and George and two sons-in-law, Joseph Jelinek and Frank Sidlo.

Barbara Remes was born December 4th, 1876 in Czechoslovakia and died on December 19, 1945, at her home near Red Cloud at the age of 69 years and 16 days.

She came to America in 1891 and lived three years with her grandmother, in Omaha, after which she came to Webster county and settled six miles north of Red Cloud, where she lived until the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Frank Strobl on February 7th, 1895. To them were born 11 children. She was preceded in death by one daugher, Annie.

Mrs. Strobl is survived by her husband, Frank Strobl; five daughters, viz: Lizzie Sidlo, of Red Cloud; Emma Prochaska, of Louisville, Colorado, Bessie Prochaska of Boulder, Colorado, Tillie Jelinek, of Red Cloud and Lydia Lannigan of Salem, Oregon; also five sons: Rudolf, Alex, Fred, Vencil and George, all of Red Cloud. There are 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, together with other relatives and a host of friends.

She was a good mother and a good neighbor.

In February of 1944, Mr. and Mrs. Strobl celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

The Strobls gave two sons to the service of their country during the second World War. Both have been honorably discharged. George was in the European theater and served on several fronts.

Out of towns relatives who came for the funeral were Mrs. Bessie Prochaska of Boulder, Colorado; Mrs. Emma Prochaska of Louisville, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Goldsworth and son, Charles, of Boone, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Art Goldsworth, of Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. Ray Wilmot of Franklin; Mrs. Chas. Vasabar and daughters, Irma and Helen of Exeter. One daughter, Mrs. Lydia Lannigan, of Salem, Oregon, was unable to be here.
