Orville D. Shaffer, 71, of Elkview died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at home after a short illness. He was a retired truck truck driver from the city of Charleston and a member of House of Prayer, Frame. Surviving: sons, Rick Shaffer of Elkview, Jack Shaffer of Fort Pierce, Fla.; daughter, Doris Osborne of Poca; brother, Ervin Shaffer of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Bertha Carnes of St. Albans, Deanie Rucker of Hurricane, Margaret Sampson of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Elkview, with the Rev. Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Shaffer Cemetery, Big Fork, Frame. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
