Donna Lea DeGrief was born the daughter of Arthur and Vernice Peck DeGrief. She married William Nelson Peyton Jr. on June 1, 1952 in Winthrop, Iowa. He was killed in an auto accident and is buried on this lot in this cemetery. They were parents of a son Gregory Alan Peyton. Donna was married again after William Nelson Peyton Jr. to Jack Zaerr who died. Donna was married to Buell Christensen on August 29, 1987. He is buried in Minnewaukan, North Dakota.

She was employed at the Buchanan County Courthouse, Independence, and Walnut Grove Feeds prior to her employment at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, where she worked for 25 years. She retired from Klein Tools in 1996. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Donna.
