Donna Lea DeGrief was born the daughter of Arthur and Vernice Peck DeGrief. She married William Nelson Peyton Jr. on June 1, 1952 in Winthrop, Iowa. He was killed in an auto accident and is buried on this lot in this cemetery. They were parents of a son Gregory Alan Peyton. Donna was married again after William Nelson Peyton Jr. to Jack Zaerr who died. Donna was married to Buell Christensen on August 29, 1987. He is buried in Minnewaukan, North Dakota.

~0bit~ Donna Lea Christensen, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999, in Manor-Care Health Services, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness of cancer. Services 11 a.m. Friday, September 3, 1999 in Murdock Funeral Home, Central City, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Buell Christensen; children: Gregory Alan Peyton and wife Kandi of Cedar Rapids, Bret O'Brien of Toddville, Vicky Bolsinger and husband Brian of Marion and Tracy Wilcox of Solon; two sisters, Karen Haars and husband Allen of Guttenberg and Georgia Williams of Winthrop; three stepchildren, Curtis Christensen of Nebraska and Dawn Christensen and Buel Christensen, both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Jason and Brooke O'Brien, Dylan Graham and David Thiher; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, William Nelson Peyton Jr. and Jack Zaerr. Born the daughter of Arthur and Vernice DeGrief on July 22, 1932, in Winthrop, Iowa, she married Buell Christensen on August 29, 1987, in Nashua, Iowa. Donna was a 1949 graduate of Winthrop High School and attended Iowa State College, Ames, for one year. She was employed at the Buchanan County Courthouse, Independence, and Walnut Grove Feeds prior to her employment at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, where she worked for 25 years. She retired from Klein Tools in 1996. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Donna.
