She was born on Saturday, Feb. 25, 1922, in Mount Solon, and was a daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Addie Beulah (Carson) Howdyshell.
Pauline was a member of the Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church but attended the Emmanuel Church of the Brethren, and for the past three years attended Sangerville Church of the Brethren. She attended Towers School and North River School and was a retired farmer and homemaker.
On March 26, 1949, she was united in marriage to Rodney Albert Andrews, who died on Nov. 15, 1999. They celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Donald Staubus, 89 Barger Lane, Mount Solon, and Jane and Gary Stoutamyer, 204 Old C&W Railway Road, Mount Solon; and four sisters, Kathleen Armstrong of Bridgewater, Lela Varner of McDowell, and Zela Huffman and Charlene Long, both of Mount Solon. Three grandchildren, Rodney Allen Staubus, Becky Sue Staubus and Dixie Lee Stoutamyer Teter and husband, Chad Teter, and one great-grandson, Jason Thomas Teter, also survive.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter on Nov. 1, 1963, one grandson, Sheldon Thomas Stoutamyer on Nov. 10, 1978, two brothers, Boyd Howdyshell and Urshel Howdyshell.
A funeral service will be held at Sangerville Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Kevin Daggett and William "Bill" Garber officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sangerville Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
