Zela Adeline Huffman, 83, of Mount Solon died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at her home following a long illness. Mrs. Huffman was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Augusta County, and was a daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Addie (Carson) Howdyshell. She was a member of Emmanuel Church of the Brethren. She was a Sunday school teacher and homemaker, and she farmed alongside her husband.
She was united in marriage Aug. 9, 1947, to Wesley Huffman, who preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1995. Zela is survived by a daughter, Norma Jean H. Yankey of Mount Solon; a son, Gary Wayne Huffman of Mount Solon; and three sisters, Kathleen Armstrong of Bridgewater Home, Lela Varner of McDowell and Charlene Long of Mount Solon. She also is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
