Penny Kirkland, who states DOB as 1842 in Coffee County, GA. has a CSA pension application on line in the Ga Archives virtual vault. She says she married Z. W. Kirkland in 1859 in Coffee County, and her brother, Daniel, gives a witness statement. She says that Z. W. Kirland enlisted in March 1862 and was wounded at the battle of Gettysburg. He was on crutches the rest of his life and died Jan 18, 1908.
