Ruben Randolph is the son of Peyton Randolph Sr (b Oct 1760, Virginia d 31 Jul 1851, McMinn County, TN) and Peyton's 1st wife Elizabeth Lawson.

Ruben married Miss Sarah Bumbalough 15 Sep 1825, in White County, TN. They were married by Samuel Johnson, JP. Sarah was the daughter of Isaac Bumbalough and Leah Medcalf (Metcalf).

Ruben and Sarah had nine children:

His son Isaac married twice. First to Juda Cooper on 6 Nov 1844 in White Co, TN Juda died in 1874 in Indiana, then on 24 Mar 1878 Isaac married Candace Jane (Smith) White in Howell County, Missouri. He died 14 Dec 1888 at Mason Valley, in Benton County, Arkansas. He is buried at the Pollard Cemetery, S/W of Bentonville, Arkansas.

His son Elijah Randolph married Sarah A. Hampton Bradley. Elijah died 3 Jun 1908 and is buried at Stringtown Cemetery, Cumberland Co., TN.

Son Chisum Randolph married Mary "Polly" Ann Patrick 18 Apr 1851, White County, TN by creed A. Taylor.

Daughter Mary Ann "Polly" Randolph married her cousin John Randolph.

Daughter Elizabeth (Betsey) Randolph died 4 May 1918 and is buried at Thomas Springs Cemetery, Cumberland Co., TN. She married Jacob VanWinkle.

Lee Ann Randolph died sometime after 1879. She married John Jordan Sapp about 1862 in Cumberland County, TN.

Son Henry Randolph fought for the Union Army with the 1st Tennessee Regiment Volunteer Infantry, as a Private in Company K. He died 25 Jan 1865 at Butlers Landing TN from typhoid fever. Henry never married. He is buried at Board Valley Cemetery, White County, TN.

Last son Jasper also fought for the Union Army, same unit as brother Henry. Jasper lived to be 100 years old and died 18 Jun 1936 at the home of his grandson, Tom S. Randolph in Crossville, TN. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bumbalough on 29 Aug 1870.

Youngest daughter, Margaret married Montgomery J. Williams on 20 August 1870 in White County, TN. Margaret died 25 Dec 1903 in Big Spring, Meigs County, Tennessee.

Thomas Springs Cemetery is in Cumberland County, TN, Southwest of Crossville near Erasmus. Ruben's daughter, Elizabeth (she married Jacob VanWinkle) is also buried in the same cemetery, next to her husband, but near her father (Ruben's) grave.
