Donald A. Anderson, a retired Transportation Manager at West Point and a five-year resident of Hillsborough, NJ and former 32-year resident of Middletown, entered into rest on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Bridgeway Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ. He was 80 years of age.
The son the late Thurston A. and Hazel Anderson, he was born on July 11, 1929 in Columbus, PA.
Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1949. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Middletown.
Survivors include his three daughters: Susan A. Kiely and husband, Andrew of Clifton, NJ, Sallie K. Anderson, and Jill A. DeMouth and her husband, Mark of Hillsborough, NJ; five grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Scott, Anna and Jesse; his sister, Carolyn Earle and her husband, Embert of Corry, PA; and two nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace Anderson on May 16, 2005.
Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, on Monday, September 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, in the First Congregational Church, 35 East Main St., Middletown. The Reverend Stuart Nutter will officiate. Cremation will take place in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Interment of the cremains will take place in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY at a later date.
