STURGIS, MICHIGAN. - Emmadale Julien, 88, of Sturgis, Michigan, and formerly of Edon, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind. Born Nov. 16, 1917, in Darke County, Ohio, to Osaa Mae (Hixon) and Walter E. Kinnison, she married George L. Julien on May 29, 1937 in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death on Oct 24, 1992. A resident of Sturgis since 1958, moving from Edon, Ohio, she was a homemaker and a member of the Sturgis Wesleyan Church. A volunteer with numerous church activities, including the Super 60's Group, she was named volunteer of the year in 1994 by the Sturgis Exchange Club. Surviving are a son, Keith (and wife, Arlene) Julien of Goshen, Ind.; a daughter Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Agley of Monticello, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a brother Marion Kinnison; four sisters, Becky Keller, LelaMae
Newman, Ann Carpenter and Marilyn "Suzie" Held; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two daughters and three brothers. Services were held in the Sturgis Wesleyan Church with Roseberg-Schipper Funeral Home, Sturgis, handling arrangements. Interment was in Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sturgis Wesleyan Church Missions.
