William W. Gibbons was a Teamster, the son of Geo. A. and Mary (Brown) Gibbons, according to the information given on his marriage record in Westfield, Massachusetts. He was married by Frederick Woods, Minister, M.E. Church, Westfield. However, when son Willie was born in Westfield, Massachusetts, William's birthplace was assumed to be Westfield as well. Then, at the time of his untimely death, the Westfield record declared that he was born in Bristol, Connecticut, and that his father was George Gibbons born in Vermont and his mother was Mary Cunningham of Middletown, Connecticut. There was a Burlington, Vermont, and there was a Burlington, Connecticut. There was a William Gibbons family in the United States Census taken in Bristol, Connecticut, 1880, that seemed to be the same family living in Burlington, Connecticut, 1870. Bristol was derived from Burlington, so the family could have been in the same location while political boundaries changed. However, there seemed to be some conflicting information about William's age also.
