She moved to Seattle in 2006, resided in Vallejo, CA for 34 years, and was also a former resident of Arlington, VA. She received her bachelor's degree in English from the Georgia Teacher's College, and taught in schools in Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. She enjoyed traveling internationally and in the U.S. and volunteered many years at the Vallejo Historical Museum, Mare Island Preservation Committee, and was a member of the Vallejo Symphony, Rose Society, and other organizations.
She was the fifth of six children of the late Dr. Hiram Alderman & Allie Aikins Alderman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Capt. Joseph E. Feaster, U.S. Navy (Ret.), and her siblings.
She is survived by children, Steve Feaster and his wife Christine, both of California, and Jan Chiles and her husband Pat, both of Washington; her step-grandchildren, David, Katie, & Evelyn.
She was cremated and interred with her husband on Monday, September 15, 2008.
