Edward Harding, one of the earlies settlers in this district, died suddenly tonight while unloading a dray. The deceased suffered from heart disease

Death Of Mr Harding
On Friday evening, shortly after 5 o'clock, Mr E. Harding was unloading a cart load of oats with Mr Giles in the Club Hotel stables. He was lifting the bags to Mr Giles who was placing them in the loft. Suddenly Mr Giles heard a gurgling sound and on looking round saw that Mr Harding had fallen back in the dray. Mr J. Hutchins went for Dr Williams bu when he arrived Mr Harding was dead. Dr Williams certifying to heart disease as the cause of death. Deceased had ben attended by Dr Williams for this complaint. The body was at once taken home and the funeral took place on Sunday. It was largely attended, the Rev. Mr Wrigley conducting the burial services. Deceased was one of the earliest settlers in the district, having settled here about twelve years. He leaves a widow and family of ten, most of whom are grown up. As a straightforward sterling man, Mr Harding was highly esteemed by all and he was one of our most enterprising settlers. His family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sudden bereavement. Deceased was 49 years of age at the time of his death.
