Uncas Woman Dies Following Stroke. Arrangements were pending today for Mrs. Nels Hendrickson, 81, resident of the Uncas-Maple Grove community who died early this Thursday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Evinger in Grove, Okla.
The Hill Funeral home of Newkirk is in charge of funeral plans.
Mrs. Hendrickson was spending the winter and early spring with her daughter in Grove when she suffered a stroke this week.
A son, Theodore Hendrickson of Lubbock, Tex., was called to bedside after she became critically ill. – The Newkirk Herald Journal, April 1, 1948
Note: Christine (Miller) Hendrickson was born in Linballe Parish, Jyll., Denmark. She came to the United States with her parents, Nelson and Christina (Nelson) Miller, and settled, at first, in Wisconsin, then moved to Plymouth County, Iowa in the 1870's. She married Nels Hendrickson in Oyens, Plymouth County in 1892.
