Daughter of Charles Hughes and Sarah Lavinia Walker Hughes. Born 10 June 1895, in Mendon, Cache, Utah. Graduated from Brigham Young College, Utah State Agricultural College, and taught school in Cache County schools for 33 years.

Member of the D.U.P. (Charles O. Dunn Camp), and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Married Joseph "Wesley" Nelson on 14 Feb 1953 in Logan LDS Temple.

Died at age 79, in a Logan nursing home, of causes incident to age.

Had no children together, but she helped her husband raise his children: Reed Nelson, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Dr. Harvard Nelson, of Hammon, Lousiana; Ethel (Clinton) Zollinger, of Kaysville, Utah; Myrle (Don) Bingham, of Bothwell, Box Elder County, Utah; Vera (Wendell) Later, of Mountain Home, Idaho; Barbara (Clarence) Leffler, of Clearfield, Utah; and Edwin Nelson, of Logan, Utah. They had 30 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12, at noon, at the College Young LDS Ward Chapel.
