Edward Kelly Dies at 59

An El Reno native, Edward G. Kelly of Oklahoma City, died Wednesday at University Hospital. Wake services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church with burial in El Reno Cemetery.

Mr. Kelly, 59, had been with the Oklahoma State Employment Service since 1936 except for service as a chief petty officer in the Seebees, stationed in The Philippines and New Guinea, during World War II. At the time of his death he was assistant director of the Service.

Prior to his employment with OSES he was a paving contractor in El Reno. He was a member of the Catholic Church and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie, of the home; two daughters, Polly of the home and Mrs. Tom Pajeck, Buffalo, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. William E. Hendrix, Oklahoma City; four brothers, James J. and John W., both of Oklahoma City, Richard of Tulsa and Robert of Detroit, and one granddaughter.
