REXBURG -- Edna Erickson Briggs, 87, of Rexburg, Idaho, died Dec. 14, 2004 at Estacada, Ore.

Edna was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Archer, Idaho, the daughter of Herman and Gladys Edna Blackburn Erickson. She attended schools in Archer and Madison High School in Rexburg.

On April 9, 1941, she married Earl Albert Briggs in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She worked as a custodian for the Archer School for 35 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various positions. She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved her family, which meant everything to her.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gladys Homer of Rexburg, Idaho; two sisters, Olive G. Smith of Archer and Phyllis (Melvin) Smith of Idaho Falls; a brother, Norman B. (Bessie) Erickson of Archer; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, in the Archer Ward LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. before services Monday at the church. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist in expenses.
