MARY WHITE
Mrs. Mary White, daughter of Samuel and Lydia Gookin, was born June 8, 1871, in Lucas county, Ia., and passed away at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital on Jan. 30, 1964, after an illness of several months. She was 92 years, seven months and 20 days of age. She was a life-long resident of Lucas county.
She was married to Charles White on March 15, 1890. He preceded her in death in October, 1935. To this union were born three children. One daughter died in infancy. A son, Glen, passed away in June, 1942. Another daughter, Mrs. Cecile Fuller, of Des Moines, survives.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First Methodist church in Chariton. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother and her memory will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. February 1, 1964 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ellis officiated at the services. Interment was in the Salem cemetery.
