Mary Leoma "Loma" Johnson daughter of Riley R. Johnson and Arminta Lollar

Mary Leoma (Loma) Johnson Cox left this earth on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 after 93 years of faithful duty to the Lord. She was born 14 Nov 1915 in Petty, Lamar Co, Texas to Riley Robertson Johnson and Arminta Lollar. She lived her childhood through high school graduation in Petty, Lamar Co, Texas.
She married James W. Cox III 24 June 1933 at the Methodist Parsonage in Pattonville Texas by Rev. C. B. Thompson. Jake and Mary lived in Dallas Texas and in 1949 Jake was transferred from Dallas to Oklahoma City and in 1956 back to Dallas. In 1958 they moved to Denver Colorado and in 1973 they again moved back to Dallas. Jake died December 2, 1980.
Loma worked all of her life in banking and at the age of 71 she retired. She moved for the last time at the age of 80. She returned to Oklahoma City to be near her grandchildren.
Loma loved sports but her passion was the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed pizza and popcorn. She found great joy caring for her flowers and even in her 90's she maintained a large lawn and could be found digging in her flower beds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James William Cox III, two infant sons died at birth and one son Jimmy, died April 7, 1965 at the age of 28, a grandson, Mark Allen Cox 1964-2004. Three brothers, Hollie, J.N., and Cleo Johnson, two sisters, Stella Taylor and Eva Clark.

2 granddaughters, Sherri Rene Cox Linton and Karen Leigh Cox Mulanax, a daughter-in-law, Edna Williams Nitzel, plus several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends survive Mary.

She was loved by all who came in contact with her.
