Albert was born in the Wet Mountain Valley in the Westcliffe area. He died at his home in the Wet Mountain Valley near the Westcliffe area.

Lifelong valley Resident
Dies of Heart Attack 1947
Albert D. Baker, 64, lifelong resident of Custer County, died suddenly of a heart attack early last Saturday morning at his home in the valley. He had been slightly ill for a few days, but his death came as a shock to his family and friends.
Born in the Valley September 29, 1882, he receives his education at Knuth school. His parents came to the valley with the colony which settled in the south end of the Vally in the early seventies.
With the exception of a brief period during which he was employed in mining at Ilse, he engaged in farming and ranching in the Valley until his retirement a few years ago.

He was married to Mary M. Williams, who preceded him in death at Westcliffe October 1907 and to this union were born three sons. He married Elizabeth Kiesler at Canon City, February 10, 1928, three sons and a daughter being born to them. Mr Baker is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, six sons, Walter, Frank and Edgar of Gardner and Adolph, Daniel and Robert of Westcliffe and a daughter Elizabeth, also of Westcliffe, Two sister, Mrs. Charles Schmidt and Mrs. Claude Stephens of Gardner, also survive, as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Community Methodist church, with Rev. Geo. W. Ellis conducting and the Menzel Funeral Home in charge. Interment was in Rosita Cemetery
