PUEBLO COLORADO CHIEFTAIN OBITUARY – 02/05/2004
Danny J. Baker, 71, departed this life on February 1, 2004 to be with our Lord. He was born in Gardner, CO July 11, 1932. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Elizabeth Baker and brother Red Baker. Survived by his children, Shawn Baker and Londa (Shaun) Gill and granddaughter, Emma Gill. Also survived by his sister, Liz Osmanski; brother, Bobby Baker of Westcliffe, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. D.J. enlisted in the Navy where he served his country on the U.S.S. Baltimore and U.S.S. Iowa. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #203. D.J. worked at the CF&I for over 30 years from which he retired. He loved team roping, and his horses and rodeo were a big part of his life. D.J. loved his children and family and loved spending time with them. He was a devoted father and loved very much. He will be missed greatly by family and friends. At his request there will be a cremation with no services.
