Lewis Beagley was born on May 15, 1864 in Binstead, Bentley, Hampshire, England, the eldest of seven children born to William Beagley and Mary Anna Smith. William and Mary emigrated to the US in 1874 and settled in Iowa where one daughter Emily was born in 1876. The same year Emily was born, the family relocated to York Township, Stafford Co., Kansas. Lewis married Lozzia Hellen Cruse in 1887 and to this union 10 children were born. Lewis moved his family to Woods County, Oklahoma Territory in 1893 with the opening of the Cherokee Outlet to settlement. Lewis died on June 27, 1955 in Alva, Woods, Co., OK.
