OFFERDAHL, EDWIN J.

MOUNT HOREB-Edwin J. Offerdahl, age 89, died on Saturday, March 24, 1988 in a Madison hospital following a brief illness. He was born on December 29, 1898 in the township of Perry. He was married to the former Leola Kahl on Oct 19, 1921. The farmed for most of their married life in the Township of Springdale and he was also a custom butcher for many area farmers. He was a member of the Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Verona Masonic Lodge #294 F & A.M. After his retirement, he was associated with the Ellestad Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Irling (Ivanelle) of Verona; a grandson, John (Rita) also of Verona; a great-grandson, Eric John; a sister-in-law, Louise Kahl of Edgerton; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Julia Ellestad Offerdahl; two brothers, Carl and Namen; six sisters, Annie Bang,Josie Thompson, Nellie Moen, Jennette Reuter, Mabel Lukken and Margie Bakken.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March, 27, at 11:00 a.m. from the Mount Horeb Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mount Horeb from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, where the Verona Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 6 p.m.
