NAMEN A. OFFERDAHL, 80, DIES IN APARTMENT FIRE SATURDAY

Funeral services for Namen A. Offerdahl, 80, were held Tuesday Jan 8 at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a Madison hospital Saturday, Jan 5, following a fire in his apartment at 7212 South Ave.

Born in Cottage Grove, he had farmed in Mount Horeb area before moving to Middleton in 1920. He was employed by the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Department and was secretary treasurer of the Middleton Insurance Co. prior to his retirement.

Mr. Offerdahl married Thea Thorson in 1916; she died Nov 1, 1969. In 1971 he married Sarah Klinke.

He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, a 50 year member and past Master of the Middleton Masonic Lodge a 50 year member of the Middleton Eastern Star and a member of the Madison Consistory.

The family has suggested that memorials be given to the church.

The Gruber Funeral Home, Middleton, was in charge of arrangements.
