Monroe Otis Mason was born outside Abilene, Texas on Feb. 21, 1892 to Harley Otis & Lucinda Jane Latimer Mason. He moved to Tulsa in 1911 from Butler, Okla. He served in the Army during World War I. While in the service he met and married Sylvia Gladys Ness in Belvedere, IL. on Sept. 2, 1918. They were the parents of 3 children: Richard Monroe, Sylvia Louise and Lynda Carroll(died right after birth).
Monroe was associated with Mason Furniture and Appliance Co. in Tulsa, OK serving as Chairman of Board. Monroe served on many different organizations along with being a Deacon at the First Baptist Church.
