Bernice wrote a column for The Butler Herald in the late 1910s and early 1920s called "Walker." This Walker is not the surname but a school location. It is not known at this time (Nov. 1997) if this school is connected by name to the Walkers of this tree but the school is in the area where most of the Walkers in this tree owned land north of Butler.
Probably the Sand Springs newspaper dated about July 14, 1953.
MRS. BERNICE BOND
DIES; SERVICES SET
Mrs. Bernice Bell Bond, 66-year-old sister of M. O. Mason, 2121 S. Owasso ave. and M. L. Mason, 1312 E. 26th st., owners of the Mason Electric Co., died Monday at her home 1179 N. Denver ave., after an illness of 3 1/2 years.
A native of Jones county, Tex., Mrs. Bond came to Oklahoma in 1908, settling in Custor county. She moved to Tulsa from there in 1923. Mrs. Bond left Tulsa in 1946, moving to Borger, Tex., but returned here about 2 years ago.
Mrs. Bond was a member of Bethel Union Baptist church.
Survivors also include her husband, Joy C. Bond, of the home; two sons, Clifford L. Bond, 4689 S. Troost ave., and Claude Bond, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Iola Kennedy, Borger; her mother Mrs. H. O. Mason, Bartlesville; two sisters, Mrs. A. A. Brown, Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. G. W. McCullough, Bartlesville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist church. Interment will be in Woodland cemetery, Sand Springs.
