Lucinda "known as Lula" Jane Latimer was born in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas on July 15, 1866. She met Harley Otis Mason in Texas and they were married November 18, 1883 in Greenville. She moved to Oklahoma in 1906 with her family settling in Butler. She later moved to Tulsa and remained there until her death. Lula was the mother of 6 children: Bernice, Inice, Monroe, Milton, Pearl and Opal.
