Funeral services for Ethel Lona Lawson were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 in the First United Pentecostal Church. Officiating were Revs. Brian Montgomery, H. W. Smith and Keith Smith. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Wheeling, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lawson, age 8 [sic 84] of Winnfield died Friday, March 7, 2003 in the Winn Parish Medical Center. She was born in Grant Parish, LA, was the daughter of George Samuel and Alice Brossette Brady, and was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church where she served in several capacities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cecil Lawson and one son, Vivan [sic Vivian] Lawson.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Melvin Lawson of Winnfield, LA; one daughter, Melbalene Holbrook of Winnfield, LA and one sister, Bessie Lawson of Mansfield, LA; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were: Bobby Lawson, Chad Lawson, Chris Folden, Jimmy Folden, Henry Warner, John Hodge, Darren Snelling, Ernie Short and Eric Short.
