Jacob Creveling, Sr. was the 10th child of Johannes and Eva Loecher Creveling, Sr. He inherited the original Creveling homestead, cemetery and western portion of the original Creveling farm from his father Johannes Creveling, Sr. He married Christiana Hidlay. Jacob Creveling was in Public Service during the American Revolution. He also served in the Hunterdon County Militia in 1792. George Hidlay, Jacob Creveling's father-in-law, served as a private during the Revolutionary War in Captain Francis Rhoad's Northampton County PA Miltia.
