A native of Waterloo, Vincent A. Meier, 49, of St. Louis died Sunday at St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis of an apparent heart attack.His funeral service was held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the church of St. Dominic Savio, and burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis.
Mr. Meier was national coordinator of inventory programming for Anheuser-Busch, Inc., where he was employed for the past 29 years. He had lived in St. Louis for the pas 14 years.
Born June 28, 1923 in Waterloo, he was a son of the late Anton Meier and Mrs. Genevieve Meier, nee Shields, who survives.Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carme Meier, nee Minella; two brothers, Cletus and Ray Meier of St. Louis; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Sylvester, a twin sister, Virginia, and an infant sister, Rita Mary.
Mr. Meier was a member of Waterloo Council 1334 Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society, and Waterloo Sportsman’s club. He was one of the organizers of the Waterloo Lions Club.
