My great grandmother on my father's side. She died before I was born.
She was a very petite little lady, standing less than 5 feet tall, but she was a big influence on my Dad and his brother.

Ina Keck had one child with her husband, my grandmother Verna. Grandma Keck was the eldest child in her family, and her youngest sibling was born about 20 years after she was, when her mother was in her 40's. "Gram" was a seamstress and a dressmaker.

My grandmother Verna, took care of her mother in the last years of her life, and "Gram" lived with them. My grandmother was a beautician and she fixed her own mother's hair for her funeral. When we found that out (when we were children,) we thought it was scary! Grandma said fixing her mother's hair was something she was happy to do for her mother. She told us "the dead can't hurt you, it's the living that you have to be careful of."

I have pictures of Great Grandma with her first 2 great-grandchildren. I came along later, and never got to meet this little lady. We heard many stories about her from my Dad, my uncle, and my Grandma. Though short in stature, she was a spitfire!

I know Gram is resting peacefully in Heaven, along with her beloved family members.
