Malcom J. Alford Sr.

Malcom J. (Mac) Alford, Sr., 71, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009, at his home.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the funeral home with burial following at Lakewood South.

Mr. Alford was born September 23, 1937 in Byram, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Alford. He retired from Jackson Public Schools, where he was a plumbing supervisor. Mr. Alford attended Brookleigh Baptist Church, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved horses.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Alford; his brother, R.C. Alford; and his sisters, Dorothy Eaton, Mildred Albritton, Jean Frizzell and Mae Hannis.

Mr. Alford is survived by his sons, Malcom (Suzanne) Alford, Jr., Danny (Tina) Alford and Tommy (Tammy) Alford, all of Byram, and Scott Alford of Ridgeland; stepchildren, Dorothy May and Earl May of Pearl; and grandchildren, Malcom Alford, III, Blake Alford, Brandon Alford, Lauren Alford, Mallory Alford, Kyle Alford and Garrett Windham.
