Hinton Resident Succumbs At 64
Hinton (RNS)--Omer Bennett, 64, died at 10:30 am Tuesday at the office in the Hinton Railroad Yard, where he had gone to check on his standing of being called to work.
He was a conductor for the chesapeake and Ohio Railway at Hinton and a member of the brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen No. 913.
He was born Oct. 31, 1899.
He was a member of the first Baptist Church in Hinton.
His wife, Inez Bennett, preceded him in death Nov. 9, 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Benney Paul of Mullens and Elwood Bennett of Hinton; a sister and a brother.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Hinton with the Rev. H.U. Thompson in charge. Burial will be in the End of the Trail Cemetery near Clintonville.
The body will remain at the E.M. Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton.
