Arnold F. Bierman, 70, passed away at his home, 218 Sommer St., Oregon City, on August 22 after a long illness. He was retired and was formerly owner of the Oregon City Funeral Home (Hillside Chapel), which he built and operated until his retirement in 1952.

Funeral services will be at the Hillside Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Howard Hutchins officiating. Vault entombment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ, Christian, in Oregon City.

Mr. Bierman was born in Davenport, Iowa, on Jan. 27, 1896, and had lived in Oregon City since 1909. He was a charter member of the Mt. Pleasant Boosters Club.

Survivors include the widow, Susie I.; one son, Wilbur C., Oregon City; one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Bertelle) Swick, Oregon City; two brothers, Raymond of Monterey, Calif., and Rudolph, Oakland, Calif.; six sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Caine, Portland; Mrs. Florence Eddins, Centralia, Wash.; Mrs. Evelyn Holley, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Leona Myers, Mrs. Nell Wiley and Mrs. Alice DeMange, of Oregon City, and seven grandchildren.
