Teke Services Held Wednesday
Last rites for Leonard Teke, 44, of North High street, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Detmer and Detmer funeral home, Rev. F. B. Taylor officiating.
Mr. Teke died of a heart attack Sunday night. He became ill while attending a show with his wife at the Poplar Auto Theater on the Lawrenceburg-Aurora road. Life squads from Lawrenceburg and Aurora were called, but he died at the theater before aid could be given. He had been ill four or five months, but had recovered sufficiently to return to work.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hastings sang at the services Wednesday, with Mrs. Tom Read as organist. Burial was in the new cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Housemeyer, Paul Scudder, Earl O'Day, Gilbert Herbert, Charles Marble and Clifford Stegemiller.
Mr. Teke, salesman for Martin Potato Chip Co., was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Rising Sun Lions Club. Born Feb. 3, 1915 in Dearborn county, he was the some of George and Rhoda Mae Weaver.
Surviving are his wife, Ardell Scholle Teke; two daughters, Mrs. Isaac Jackson of Rising Sum and Mary Lou, at home; two sons, Leonard and Timmy, at home; four brothers, Everett, Talbert and Ralph, all of Lawrenceburg, and George of New Richmond, O., and five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Simmons(sic) of Cincinnati, Mrs. Agens Scholle of Aurora, Mrs. Ruth Carpenter of Dillsboro, Mrs. Lida Bogle (sic) of Lawrenceburg and Mrs. Dorothy Detmer, Rising Sun.
Note: Simmons should be Symmonds and Bogle should be Vogel.
