Suggested edit: Abraham Lincoln's father, Thomas, had two brothers, Mordecai and Josiah, both older than Thomas Lincoln. Josiah was born in the Shanandoah Valley in 1773/1774 and moved to Kentucky when he was about nine years old. The family settled at Hughes Station, near Louisville. Josiah's father was massacred by Indians and the widow and her five children then moved east to Washington County, Kentucky. Josiah married "Caty" Barlow, Feb 1801.
Josiah Lincoln left Washington County, Kentucky and settled in Blue River Township (north west corner of Harrison County, Indiana) in 1813. Josiah had six children; Barbara (married John Crutchfield, 4 Nov 1819), Thomas (Married Sarah Weathers, 1825), Jacob (married Martha Gibbs), daughter (married Isom Denton), daughter (married John Briscoe) and a daughter (married Sullenger). Josiah died in 1835 in Harrison County, Indiana.
Thomas Lincoln purchased his brothers and sisters rights in the home farm and resided there, where he died in 1849.
Thomas Lincoln and Sarah (nee Weathers) lived in Blue River Township, Harrison County and belonged to the Blue River Church. Thomas died in 1849 and is buried in the church cemetery. Sallie then married Joseph Sipes in 1860 in Harrison County and moved to Washington County, Indiana. She joined the Old Unity Primitive Baptist Church in Washington County in Nov. 1855. She had no children by Sipes. In 1880 she is a widow and living with her son, Benjamin. Sallie died in 1882 of pneumonia at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 12 days, a widow.
