OATHER A. SKINNER, 88, DIES; FUNERAL FRIDAY IN CAIRO
Oather A. Skinner, 88, retired farmer, died at 7:10 o'clock this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Logan Alexander of Jacksonville, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Skinner was born Dec. 26, 1886, in Barton County and came to Randolph County at the age of 10. He lived in this county ever since. He was married in December, 1889 to Miss Celia Rogers, also of Randolph County, and she died in 1932.
He is survived by five children, Roger Skinner, St. Louis, Mrs. Floy Benson, Seattle, Mrs. Oleta Cassity, Hannibal, Mrs. Logan Alexander, in whose home he died, and Mrs. Ruby Alexander, Boulder, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Tommy Skinner, Huntsville.
Mr. Skinner joined the Union Baptist Cnhurch at an early age and remained an active member as long as health permitted.
The body will be in the Cater Funeral Home until services at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Cairo Baptist Church by the pastor, The Rev. Omar Dickerson. Burial will be in Union cemetery, northeast of Cairo.
