Virginia Eileen Barnard, 84, of Jacksonville, formerly of Palmyra, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville. She was born Nov. 5, 1920, in White Hall, the daughter of Herbert Sr. and Mabel E. Baird Sadler. She married Mintford E. "Pete" Barnard in 1938 in Bowling Green, Mo. Survivors: husband, Mintford; two sons, Russell E. (wife, Jeanette) Barnard of Scottville and James L. (wife, Sherry) Barnard of Waverly; two daughters, Phylis C. Dennis (companion, John Parrish) of Jacksonville and Karen S. (husband, John) Kreoger of Palmyra; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Sadler Jr. of South Roxana; and two sisters, Betty Schermer of Granite City and Joyce (husband, Bob) Cannon of South Roxana. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Mackey-Daws Funeral Home, White Hall. Burial: Richwoods Cemetery, near Roodhouse.
