Daughter of Eleanor Dickerson and William Soper. She married Robert Gilmer Hanford on 18 Sep 1820. According to Robert's sister Lauretta, Mary made a safety belt and sewed gold coins in it for safety when traveling. Mary was buried on the lot of her eldest son, Albert G. Hanford. She had 5 children: Albert Gallatin Hanford, Eleanor Hanford, Cyrus Hanford, Robert Hanford and Robert G. Hanford II.
