An illness of several weeks ended in death at Culver Hospital at 1 o'clock for Mrs. Ethel Dice, life-long resident of the Mace community. She had been confined to the hospital for five weeks following an operation.

She was born December 19, 1884, near New Ross, the daughter of Alvin B. and Lucy A. Bowen Sparks, and was a member of the New Ross Christian Church.

She is survived by two children, Kenneth Dice of Mace, and Mrs. Meade Willis of Alexandria, Indiana; three grandchildren, and three brothers, W.I. Sparks of Newton, Iowa; Bert Sparks of Jamestown, and C.R. Sparks of Ladoga. Three sisters and one brothers preceded her in death.

Burial will be in the New Ross Cemetery.
