George M Sparks, 71 years old, died of complications at his home three miles west of Advance, Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of about two years. He was a farmer, and came to Boone county in 1893 and had resided on the farm where he died ever since that time.

Burial will be in K of P Cemetery at Mace.

Mr. Sparks was born in Montgomery county, a son of Alvin B and Lucy A (Bowen) Sparks. He was married October 25, 1892 in Boone county to Mary E Walker who survives.

Other survivors include three brothers, William I Sparks of Newtown, Iowa, J B Sparks of Jamestown and Charles R Sparks of Lagoda, two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Whiteman of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ethel Dice of Mace, and a granddaughter, Mary Jean Pickering of Thorntown. A daughter Esther Pickering and a sister Rose Bowman preceded him in death.
