Mrs. Cleo Davis Gunter, 79, died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Baptist Village after a lenghty ilness. She was a native of Pierce County and had resided in Charleston, SC before moving to Waycross. She was married to the late George D. Gunter and was a daughter of the late Hiram Prester Davis and Ida Crews Davis. The survivors include one son, Jack E. Robbins, Jr. (wife Helen) of Austin, TX; two sisters, Betty J. King and Julia Griffin, both of Waycross; a brother, Gilbert C. Davis of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Thursday from 7 until 9 o'clock.
