William Lyons, Chester, Dies
Father of Chief of Police Floyd Lyons Succumbs to Three Weeks Illness.
William Lyons, 78, of Fairview street, Chester, father of Police Chief Floyd Lyons, died Sunday at 10:30 a.m., at his home after three - weeks illness. Besides Chief Lyons, of Second street, he leaves five other sons, Allen of Virginia avenue and Raymond of Indiana avenue, Chester, Ira of Yorkville, Reymus of McKeesport, Pa.; and William of Georgetown, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Sidney Johnson of Fairview road; and three brothers, Louis of Chester, Abraham of Hookstown, Pa., and James of Holliday's Cove, W.Va. Funeral services will be held in the home of Mrs. Johnson in Fairview road Tuesday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. G. W. Smucker, pastor of the Chester Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will be made in Locust Hill cemetery.
