Mrs. Anne K. Foslien, an old resident of Douglas county passed away at her home in Brandon, Monday evening, Nov. 11. Mrs. Foslien's death comes after a long illness, having been confined to her bed since December of last year. She was born September 12, 1829 at Krodherred, Norway, and came to this country when a young lady, first going to Jefferson Prairie, Wisconsin, where a few years later she was married to Knud Foslien. To this union were born eleven children, seven of whom are living. They are: Finger Foslien, C. K. Foslien of Sauk Centre, Mrs. Halvor Johnson, Mrs. Wigo Werner, Mrs. Lars Anderson, Rachel and Carrie all of Brandon. Carrie and Rachel have resided with their mother faithfully administering to her every want during her illness. Mrs. Foslien with her family moved on a farm in the town of Moe in 1883, which was her home until a few years ago when the family moved to Brandon.
The funeral services were held from the home and the West Moe church, November 13, rev. C. Farmstd officiating. He was assisted by three former pastors of the Free church of Brandon, Rev. Mr. Moen, Rev. Mr. Berlie and Rev. Mr. Yttrehus. Mrs. Foslien was a devout christian and a faithful member of the Free church.
