FLORENCE ELIZABETH CLARK
Florence Elizabeth Clark was born in Lucas County, Iowa April 29, 1905, and passed away March 16, 2004, at Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center, at the age of 98. Florence was united in marriage to Walter Clark and to this union two daughters were born, Dorothy and Darlene.
Florence worked at restaurants over the years. She loved to cook and usually did anytime anyone came to visit. There was an immeasurable amount of great food and timeless wisdom dispersed at her kitchen table.
Florence loved to be outside when the weather was warm. She enjoyed fishing, often catching the biggest fish, gardening and hunting mushrooms.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cass and Estelle Rouse; husband Walter Clark; brothers, Stanley, Harry, Jake and Frank; daughter Dorothy and husband Bernard "Bud" Greeley.
Florence is survived by one daughter, Darlene and son-in-law Wayne Sheldon of Iowa City; grandchildren: Bill Crow and wife Kathie of Iowa City, Mary Greeley of Russell, Rose Rennekamp and husband Steve of North Liberty and Jim Greeley and wife Vicki of Newton.
She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Tim Crow, David Tuttle, Heather Bigley, Denise Tuttle, Kristi Rennekamp, Bryan Rennekamp and Curt Greeley; great-great-grandchildren: Eric and Brandon Storm, Brittany and Brady Bigley, Samantha Crow, Christy Petty and Abby Tuttle; sister, Idessia Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Florence were held Friday, March 19, 2004 at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton with Pastor Don Hayes officiating. Interment was in Oxford Cemetery.
