He was born April 5, 1921, on a farm near Camden, Ohio, to Elmer and Effie Creech Bostick and lived in Richmond most of his life.
Ralph retired from Belden Corp. after working 45 years as a supervisor. He was an Army veteran of World War II, being one of the first to land on Omaha Beach in the D-Day invasion of Europe. He was a 1939 graduate of Dixon High School in Camden, Ohio.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Belden 25-Year Club, a 55-year member of the American Legion, and also a member of the VFW, Richmond Area Traffic Club, Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge.
Survivors include nieces and nephews including Marla Sayne of Richmond; and great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; one daughter, Michelle Bostick; two sisters, Mary Helen Sizelove and Lelah Maxine Beckett; and one brother, Elmer Marvin Bostick.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Laura Altman officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Camden, Ohio, with military rites by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
